Dioskilos is a beast of two heads resembling a dog, is one of the multiple foes that Perseus confronts. This two headed dog appears in the 1981 film by protecting Medusa's lair of intruders, it is later slain by Perseus.

Traditionally Cerberus guards the Underworld and has three heads and guards the passage to the Underworld. Although it may actually be that the dog is a guardian of Hera. Cerberus also in some myths had a mane of cobras and a tail that was a python.
