In Greek Mythology Ouranos was one of the Primordial Greek Gods and is the personification of the sky and heavens. He is the father of the Cyclopes, the Erinys, Aphrodite, the Hecatonchires and the Titans. Ouranos was partnered with another Primordial, Gaia, Mother Earth. Together they gave birth to the three Cyclopes, the three Hecatonchires and the twelve Titans, Ouranos was disgusted with his first six children and imprisoned within Tartarus, causing Gaia great pain.

In revenge for the mistreatment of his mother and sibling, Kronos, the youngest Titan, armed with a Sickle made complete of Adamantine attacked his father and castrated Ouranos’ genitals which fell into the ocean below creating Satyrs, Nymphs, the Erinys, Alastor and Aphrodite.

After his usurpation, Ouranos fled to the stars but not before stating to Kronos that just as he was defeated by one of his children, Kronos would be as well.
