(2012) Wrath of the Titans

The Spear of Triam is a weapon that appears in the 2012 film, Wrath of the Titans. It is the only weapon that can kill Kronos.

History[]

The Spear of Triam was used by Zeus, Poseidon and Hades in a joint effort to overthrow their father Kronos, ending the Titanomachy.

Eons later, the demigod Perseus wielded the spear once more, using it to slay Kronos when he arose again.

Made From[]

The spear was the combined forces of:-

All of which were creations of Hephaestus. As components of the Spear of Triam, the three aforementioned weapons are perhaps the deadliest weapons seen in the series so far. All three of them are capable of generating lightning. When used in combat by a God or demi-God, red hot sparks erupt from them, showing the combustive energy stored within the weapons. Zeus also commanded his weapon to remain inactive, while Poseidon could use his to generate lightning, something which other characters were incapable of. This shows that only the three Gods have complete control over these weapons, and access to all of their respective powers.

Interestingly, when Zeus combined Poseidon's Trident and Hades' Pitchfork, it transported himself and the others out of Tartarus. Combining just two pieces appears to allow an additional means of transportation. The weapons are powerful enough to shatter solid rock; when Perseus arrived to release his father from the Underworld, the only weapon strong enough to free Zeus was Poseidon's Trident. In the same scenario, Hades' Pitchfork was able to pierce the ground when he used it to pin Ares down.
